The Fónaic le Fís Decodable Readers give children the opportunity to practise the sounds and spelling patterns they have already been taught.
With carefully controlled text and engaging stories, the readers support blending, decoding, reading accuracy and fluency, helping children build confidence as they progress through the programme.
Each Fónaic le Fís Classroom Kit brings together the key teaching resources for that stage of the programme, making it easier for teachers to deliver lessons in a clear, consistent way.
Classroom Kit A – supports the teaching of the 25 initial sounds, early blending and phonological awareness, with the main pupil and teacher resources included.
Classroom Kit B – builds on Book A with further spelling patterns, reading development and supporting classroom resources.
Classroom Kit C – consolidates learning from A and B while introducing more advanced spelling patterns, reading, spelling and grammar support.
Gaelscoileanna – Stage 1 Junior & Senior Infants Designed for pupils beginning their literacy journey through Irish. Books A and B introduce sounds systematically and support early blending, reading, handwriting and oral language development.
English-medium schools – Stage 2 First & Second Class For pupils learning Irish as an additional language in school. Books A and B provide a structured approach to Irish sounds and help children progress from recognising sounds to blending and reading with greater confidence.
Scríobh le Fís is a structured Irish handwriting programme designed to help children develop clear, confident and fluent handwriting through progressive practice.
It can be used alongside Fónaic le Fís, helping children build connections between reading, phonics and writing.
