Meet The Beanies — a groundbreaking series of Hi-Lo decodable readers written especially for older, struggling readers who need age-appropriate, high-interest stories that don’t talk down to them. Phase 3 Set 1 has been written specifically for the Letters & Sounds Phase 3 progression, introducing the next 22 letter sounds in a carefully controlled sequence. Every story follows students week-by-week through the programme, providing rich text-based context to practise emerging reading skills. Children are only ever exposed to sounds they have previously learnt, and tricky words are introduced only after they have been formally taught — building genuine confidence and mastery of the phonics code.
