Beanies Hilo Diversity Decodables Phase 4 Set 1

The Beanies are back — and this time they’re tackling blends! Phase 4 Set 1 of the Beanies Hi-Lo Diversity Decodables series has been written specifically for the Letters & Sounds Phase 4 progression, introducing 38 different adjacent consonants (blends) through a set of 12 high-interest, age-appropriate stories. As always, The Beanies feature a cast of diverse, relatable teenage characters whose adventures are designed to engage older, struggling readers who need books that speak to their world.

Every story uses only decodable regular text, with a strictly controlled structure that ensures children are only exposed to sounds and tricky words they have already been taught. Following students week-by-week through the programme, Phase 4 provides the text-based context needed to practise and consolidate emerging blending skills with real confidence.

Can also be used alongside other popular phonics schemes, with book-banded reading levels provided for easy cross-referencing.
