The Step 1 Decodable Book Set builds on early reading foundations, supporting children as they grow in confidence and independence. This carefully structured eight-book collection features simple sentences, consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words, and short vowel sounds—ideal for developing fluent decoding skills.

In this step, children are introduced to a familiar group of characters—Bug, Dog, Cat, Cub, and Pig—all with fully decodable CVC names. Through their relatable and engaging adventures, readers practise essential phonics skills while strengthening comprehension and enjoyment.
