Begin the Letters & Sounds journey with the Phase 1 Set 1 Non-Fiction readers — 12 non-fiction decodable readers designed for teaching phonemic awareness, the foundational understanding of sounds and words that underpins all future reading and spelling. Each reader introduces 8 different letter sounds (phonemes) through real-life, full-colour photography, giving children rich, text-based context to hear and practise each sound in a variety of words.

Non-fiction titles engage all learners, particularly those who prefer facts over fiction. Written with strictly controlled text, children are only ever exposed to sounds they have already been taught. Compatible with other popular phonics schemes, with book-banded reading levels provided.
